How to Read CeraVe Batch Codes & Expiry Dates

Because CeraVe is formulated with essential ceramides and hyaluronic acid, knowing its expiration date prevents compromised barrier repair treatments.

Does CeraVe Print Expiration Dates?

Most non-prescription CeraVe products (like Moisturizing Cream, Hydrating Cleanser, and PM Lotion) do not list an explicit calendar expiry date unless they contain active SPF or acne drugs like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

For standard formulas, CeraVe relies on production batch numbers.

Where is the CeraVe Lot Number?

  • Tubs & Jars: Stamped in dot-matrix ink on the bottom base or along the lower sidewall.
  • Pump Bottles: Printed near the pump collar or underneath the bottle base.
  • Tubes: Embossed along the top crimp seal.

CeraVe Batch Structure

As part of the L'Oréal parent group, CeraVe lot numbers commonly follow a 6-character convention (such as 70X101). The 3rd letter corresponds to the production year, while subsequent characters mark the manufacturing cycle.
